Energy Poverty is defined as the situation where access to energy is limited or nonexistent in low-income areas. Solar Energy plays a significant role in reducing Energy Poverty due to its low cost, accessibility, and being a renewable energy source.
To highlight the power and importance of solar energy in reducing Energy Poverty, we, as Green Solar Network, participated in the meetings on the topic of "SECAP's Energy Access and Poverty Section," held on June 11 and June 25, 2024, within the scope of the 'EU4 Energy Transition: Covenant of Mayors in Western Balkans and Türkiye' Project.
We support the goals and tasks of the project, funded by the European Union, which provides support to municipalities in Türkiye fighting climate change under the Covenant of Mayors initiative in terms of promoting the use of solar energy. To promote solar energy, we aim to collaborate with MLGP to strengthen access to solar energy in terms of knowledge, technology, infrastructure, and legislation by establishing strong partnerships with Municipalities, Non-Governmental Organizations, Universities, and Public Institutions to address the problems and obstacles encountered in this scope.
